27 February 2008 | New Hazlett Theater | 6:30 p.m.
We need to find ways to contain our hunger for energy and other resources that are, inevitably, dwindling. Are there solutions? How realistic are they? And how can they be implemented?
Come listen to our experts’ well-formulated ideas as they discuss and debate Green chemistry, adapting our manufacturing processes, energy options, infrastructure and more. Our panel includes Dr. Paul Anastas, known as the father of Green Chemistry, who joined Yale University as Professor in the Practice of Green Chemistry with appointments in the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, Department of Chemistry, and Department of Chemical Engineering and also serves as the Director of the Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering at Yale; Steve Winberg who is the Vice President for CONSOL Energy Research & Development, which focuses on energy development, improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions; Audrey Russo who started as president and chief executive officer at the Pittsburgh Technology Council in early October of 2007; and Dr. Moira Gunn who is Host of Tech Nation, the sole national weekly radio program on the impact of technology, and its weekly BioTech Nation segment which enjoys the same status in the area of biotech issues.
Cocktails and conversation to follow. Join us!
