An article published November 12 in Pittsburgh Business Times suggests Pittsburgh needs to attract workers from other areas to meet the demands of the expanding job market. CityLAB are ahead of the game! Click here to follow our experiments to bring new workers to the city.

“New data from the Federal Housing Finance Agency shows that the Pittsburgh’s housing market is doing remarkably well. The housing appreciation rate for the Pittsburgh region for the most recent 12-month period was 1.8%, higher than any of our benchmark regions. In addition, the five-year appreciation rate was 9.4%, which was also higher than that of any other region” writes Doug Heuck, Program Director of Pittsburgh Today.

Windsor, Toronto happens to like Detroit and the people who live there. Could it be because they are right across the river from each other? A social collective, Broken City Lab, is making sure that Windsor remains a good neighbor to Detroit, by offering encouraging words and friendship.

His interest in grassroots community development and under-served populations marries beautifully with the work he will be doing on the Special Impact Zone along the Penn Avenue Arts Corridor and in Garfield.
